Survivors include her husband, Arthur Foster of Dothan, Alabama her daughter, Yoshi Harris of Dothan, Alabama her son, Xavier Reeves of Dallas, Texas two granddaughters, Shania Harris of Dothan, Alabama, and Ladesjah Reeves of Columbus, Georgia a twin brother, Michael Dover of Dothan, Alabama three sisters, Merita Saunders of Dothan, Alabama, Barbara (Lennie) LaVar of Ozark, Alabama, and Cleopatra (Peter) Stanonik of Killeen, Texas a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends to whom she was very close to and loved dearly. Foster was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Janelle "Monae" Reeves, and recently by her parents, Marion Cleophus Dover and Sarah Nell (Branyon) Dover. She was baptized at Peaceful Rest Baptist Church, Fayette, Alabama, and upon moving to Dothan Alabama with her family, she became a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Dothan Alabama. Anita was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, Dothan, Alabama. He was employed at E & H Steel in Midland City, AL for over 40 years. He departed this life on Augat the Southeast Health. ![]() After relocating to Dothan, AL, he later joined the New Bethel Baptist Church. Jones (Opelika, AL), and Darryl (DJ) Grayson Jr. Champ had a special and unique bond with his nieces and nephew, Cherice Ambers (Tuskegee, AL), Phyllis (Markus) Palmer (Montgomery AL), Delicia Peoples (Tuskegee, AL), Dinah (Miles) Robinson (Atlanta, GA), Angel N. Wimbish of Tuskegee, AL and two sisters, Linda W. He leaves to cherish his memories one brother, Millard B. From this union three children were nurtured and loved: Sterling Wimbish III of Phoenix, AZ, Akias Polynice Wimbish of Jacksonville, FL, and Chelsey Shaquerias Wimbish of Birmingham, AL. He was united in holy matrimony to Theresa Ann Jones on August 21, 1987. He was employed with Alabama Department of Public Health in the STD division for over thirty years and happily retired in March 2020.Ĭhamp was extremely dedicated to his family. He had an extraordinarily strong work ethic. in Animal and Poultry Sciences in August 1985 and post-graduate studies from Troy State University in June 1996 where he earned his Masters of Science. Upon completing high school, he attended Tuskegee University where he received a B.S. Joseph’s Catholic School and Tuskegee Institute High School in Tuskegee, AL. ![]() He later moved to Dothan, AL and was able to continue his expression through music at Greater Beulah Missionary Baptist Church and First Missionary Baptist Church for many years playing in countless weddings, funerals, community programs, and workshops until the current global pandemic surfaced and his health began to fail.Ĭhamp received his early education at St. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Tuskegee and surrounding areas. He continued to share his love for music with several churches by serving as a musician at Washington Chapel AME, Mt. He began playing the piano at the early age of eight under the guidance of Ms. Champ was a committed, enthusiastic, and talented musician. He transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, Januin Dothan, Alabama.Īs a child, he first discovered and showcased his love for music at Solomon Chapel AME Zion where he initially showed his love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
